Good but looking forward to seeing improvement...
The venue was more of a concern for me than the performance, for most of my concerns. Everyone literally caused to line up around the block because the tickets show 6:30. The fine print on the tickets said "6:30 DRS"... door open at 6:30, only to discover. That makes for a fatigued and frustrated audience before we're even in the door. Not even an unopened water bottle is allowed by the Orpheum to be brought in. Unique for LA venues, but a small frustration, in my experience. The A/C and ventilation was inadequate and very hot by the time the two warm-up acts and a charity solicitation was over. Everyone was in the lobby looking for cooler air. Also, by the time we got an intermission, the theater had to me in the low 80s. Regarding the performance, the two warm-up acts were interesting. I don't take well to being strong-armed and made me not want to participate, but the charity solicitation was very heavy-handed. But the time Ben Bankas took the stage, in a hot theater, it was nearly 9pm, and I had my water bottle confiscated. I really did enjoy his performance, but the distractions kept me from the best experience I expected. Looking forward to seeing him again at the Greek this summer, where I expected a much more enjoyable venue.
